Well, my all-time favorite place to relax in my house is my bedroom. It’s the spot where I can lie down and forget about my problems and sadness. It is painted with comfortable blue tones and a hint of vanilla color. Every time the night falls, I lay down on this lovely bed and close my eyes to enjoy the quietest moments of the day.

My mom and I tried to maximize the space in this room, so it also features a mini-fridge, air conditioning, and an air purifier. Moreover, this is the only room with a reliable wifi connection and a high-powered computer, so it’s perfect for me to work on graphics and play games with high-definition visuals. In fact, when I get tired of playing video games, I switch to watching movies on my Samsung mini projector, which I pair with my Marshall speakers. Therefore, i have nothing more to desire than the things furnished in this room because it made me completely satisfied

Actually, 3 years ago, I didn’t really like this room because of how cramped it was. But after my mom and I did a little adjusting on the layout, paint colors, and decorations to my own personal taste, it looked much more gorgeous and shining.

To conclude, I’d like to express my gratitude to my mom for providing me with a room that allows me to relax, be myself, and forget the pressures of the outer world.

V. PART 3 QUESTIONS

1. Why is it difficult for some people to relax?

I reckon it is because of the amount of stress they experience daily. Stress can be caused by plenty of factors, such as work, family, financial, and health issues. When people are constantly exposed to these stressors, it can be difficult for them to wind down and take a break from the pressures of life. Additionally, some people may have difficulty relaxing due to their mental health. Anxiety and depression, for example, can cause people to feel overwhelmed and unable to take a break from their worries.

  • Stressor (n.): yếu tố gây ra căng thẳng
  • Wind down (n.): thư giãn
  • Overwhelmed (adj.): choáng ngợp

2. What are the benefits of doing exercise?

From my viewpoint, exercising has many advantages for both physical and mental health. Physically, exercise can help to improve cardiovascular health, reduce the risk of chronic diseases, and increase muscle strength and endurance. Exercising may also improve balance and coordination, as well as reduce body fat. Mentally, people can improve sleep quality, raise their mood, and increase cognitive functioning by doing regular exercise. All of these benefits can result in a higher quality of life.

  • Cardiovascular (n.): tim mạch
  • Chronic disease (n.): bệnh mãn tính
  • Muscle strength (n.): sức mạnh cơ bắp
  • Endurance (n.): sức bền
  • Coordination (n.): sự phối hợp
  • Body fat (n.): lượng mỡ cơ thể
  • Cognitive functioning (n.): chức năng nhận thức

3. Do people in your country exercise after work?

As far as I am concerned, people in my country often do exercise after their work hours. This is because they are aware that exercise is an important part of life. Many people hit the gym or take part in group fitness, while others prefer to go for a run or go cycling. Some people even participate in team sports such as soccer or basketball. Additionally, exercise is also regarded as a way to boost productivity and creativity. Studies have shown that regular workout can help to improve focus, which can be advantageous for work.

  • Hit the gym (v.): đến phòng tập gym
  • Focus (n.): sự tập trung

4. What is the place where people spend most of their time in their home?

I reckon it’s the living room where a majority of people spend their time because that’s the place where family and friends gather to blow off some steam, watch television, play games, and have conversations. It’s also a place where people can host parties as it’s often the most inviting room in the house, with comfortable furniture, a cozy atmosphere, and plenty of natural light. In addition to the living room, people also spend a lot of time in their bedrooms since they can retreat there for privacy and a good night’s sleep. These are the places where people can relax, entertain, and socialize.

  • Blow off some steam (v.): thư giãn
  • Retreat (v.): tu tâm tĩnh dưỡng
  • Good night’s sleep (n.): giấc ngủ ngon
