II. SAMPLE ANSWERS

  1. How old were you when you started school?
  • I began my formal education at the age of six. Back then, I attended Le Van Tam primary school because that one was the closest to my house. To be honest, it was my only choice, as schools within a 5km radius of my house were all irresponsible and poorly qualified.

       2. How did you get to school each day?

  • At that time, my brother and I walked to school together. But when he had a day off, my parents often asked acquaintances to take me instead to make sure that everything was going smoothly on my road to school.

      3. Tell me something about your school.

  • Well, it was located only 10 minutes away from my house, so I was never late for class. Moreover, it was an international school so sometimes there were several native students. Hmm, and I think what I learned the most from here was my English speaking skills as well as some new cultures from other countries

      4. Did you enjoy it? (Why?/Why not?)

  • In general, everything here is fine and I feel totally satisfied with the service, the quality of teaching or the security. However, at first, I found it difficult to integrate because they used English to communicate. But it’s not a big deal, and I solved it myself in just 2 months.

     5. What were some of the most popular activities at primary school?

  • When I was an elementary school student, almost every school in my city organized an annual picnic for students to have fun and participate in extracurricular activities. Honestly, every students from all walks of life can attend because it’s very cheap and doesn’t require much preparation

     6. Have you ever returned to see your old school again?

  • Since graduating from elementary school, I have never had any intention of going back. Because my old school has been rebuilt, so I no longer feel familiar and don’t have many memories anymore. However, I am planning to visit my old homeroom teacher in the near future with some old friends, and I bet it will be amazing

    7. Are you still in contact with any of the friends you had in primary school

  • Definitely yes, but not so many. It is mainly because the majority of my old friends have left town to seek jobs in other parts of the country. I rarely go back home, but when I do, there are still some friends from primary school that I still keep in touch with and we always have a wonderful time together.
